Transition hose replacement
Foil accordion hose crushes behind the dryer, traps lint in every ridge, and burns readily. We replace it with rigid or semi-rigid metal and set the dryer back at a spacing that doesn't kink it.
Services
Everything below is priced before we start. If we find something that needs repair, you get a separate quote and you decide.
Standard service
The full run gets cleaned, not just the first few feet you can reach with a shop vac. We drive a rotary brush down the duct with vacuum containment at the connection, so lint comes out into the vacuum instead of into your laundry room.
That matters for two reasons: packed lint is the fuel in a dryer fire, and a restricted duct forces the appliance to run hot and long on every load.
What's included every time:
Most single-family homes take under an hour. Long runs, roof terminations, and second-floor laundry rooms take longer and we'll tell you that when we quote.
Replace these placeholders with real job photos. Your own before-and-after shots will convert better than any stock image — a bag of lint on a driveway sells this job by itself.
Everything else
Cleaning removes lint. It doesn't fix a duct that was installed wrong in the first place — and a bad install is why some vents clog again within months. These are the problems we find most often in homes around Rochester Hills and Troy.
Foil accordion hose crushes behind the dryer, traps lint in every ridge, and burns readily. We replace it with rigid or semi-rigid metal and set the dryer back at a spacing that doesn't kink it.
Disconnected joints venting hot lint into a crawlspace or attic, crushed sections behind drywall, sagging runs that pool moisture. Common in older homes and in anything a previous owner modified.
Some runs are simply too long or have too many elbows for a dryer to push through. Every extra bend costs you exhaust. We redesign a shorter path so the appliance stops fighting the ductwork.
Starlings and sparrows nest in warm exhaust hoods every spring in this area, and a nest will block a vent completely in a matter of weeks. We clear it, clean the run, and fit a guard that still lets the vent exhaust freely.
Broken flaps, painted-shut dampers, and screened covers that are basically lint nets. A proper hood opens under exhaust pressure and closes when the dryer stops.
Adding a laundry room or relocating one? We run rigid metal duct on the shortest sensible path with a proper wall or roof termination, so it starts out right instead of becoming somebody's repair later.
Pricing
Quotes are free over the phone for standard single-family homes. We ask three questions: where's the laundry room, where does it exhaust, and when was it last cleaned. That's usually enough to give you a firm price.
If we arrive and the job turns out different than described, we tell you before we touch anything. You can approve the new number or send us away at no charge.
[Add your actual pricing here once you've set it — a starting price on the page filters out tire-kickers and improves call quality.]
How often
Annual is the general guidance for a typical household. Go more often if you run the dryer daily, have a large family, have pets that shed, or have a long or roof-terminated vent run.
Skipping it doesn't stay neutral. Lint accumulates every load, so the fire risk and the energy cost both climb the longer it goes.
